As I said before, I don't know if I passed this exam but (knocked on wood) if I was going to take it again I would do this:
1) Learn by heart all minicases and mainly all Diff Dx for each CC from FA. I made my list of DDx 5 days before my exam, it was a good tool I used at last, hopefully it worked.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/sa83ue
2) Do your own Patient Encounter Repertory, I did mine with the words that were more easy to pronounce for me and in the way I feel comfortable, here is my format but you can modify it and do your version. http://www.sendspace.com/file/p4gya8
And here is my blue sheet model I made to organize my encounter. http://www.sendspace.com/file/bafn6s
3) After you learned all the Pt Encounter Qs to ask, Learn how to answer the probably Challenging Qs and your Closure which includes: Summary (recall HPI) + Test to ask and finally your most probably Dx, explain it in a simple way. This is a little bit of mine...
http://www.sendspace.com/file/ebfn8f
4) Learn also how to do the Counseling for many situations like the alcoholic pt, the promiscuous pt, the smoker, etc. I found out through kaplan workshop that we can't always do counseling, for example in an emergency situation, the sp told me that the counseling wasn't in the checklist cause this was an ER case, funny thing huh? and I was so concerned about it.
5) Once you got all these previous steps, start doing your PN with the information from FA, just go over the cases or even better have somebody to read the info to you, write it down on your blue sheet and do your PN, for every one of the 31 cases (FA 2007).
Have a normal PN known first and after that do it for every Case. Here is my Sample for PN: http://www.sendspace.com/file/z0ftlu
And here the Blank Patient Notes to practice: http://www.sendspace.com/file/qftehv
6) Now is SHOWTIME!!! Get your SP friend and practice with another person taking the exam, take turns as a doc and sp, this is good to time yourself and also to practice your acting skills, it was kind of embarrasing for me at the beginning but after 6 cases I felt more confident and cool about it
Everyone has its own way to study but if these tips and sources can help one person I will be happy that I shared them with you guys.

Hi, dctrh
From your post...
"Great, Good luck, can u pls talk more about the patient's slang words in complaint?, and i wanna ask u which tools u had with u ,u mentioned any ools for neurology??? or what?
Also did u take ck or step 1 befor cs? im on my observeship right now, and planning to take cs then ck then sep 1? what do u think according to ur experience? GL"
About the pts 'slangs' I didn't find anything different, just normal educated english. Whatever tools I mentioned were the ones I made myself to make my encounter more organized and easy for me, I am sharing them here.
I passed step 1 before but never took CK, I was preparing my CK though but then decided to take CS first. As there is no rule or time to take the steps in certain order, you go first with whichever is easier for you. Technically it would be better to go in order but I know people who went just like your plans and did awesome. Good luck on your journey Doc, now I am moving back to CK Journal land.
Hang in there.

Hey Guys,
Gosh I am always the last to read the message here. Guys, please send me a pm if you want to be sure I read your questions. I don't usually come here.
Oh, yes I passed the exam back in august 2009 I got my results so it's old news.
This time my report came good even in PN which was the part I failed first time I took this test.
Guys, don't get discouraged about this exam. 1 month is all you need. my material was good for many buddies I know so hope it helps.
Hyvee, about the faces, it's just Word document, you can attach anything you want there and I am a cartoon freak so everything has to have pictures for me to learn better.
Miztly, sorry i read your post too late, I hope everything went well with your exam and hotel.
Good Luck Guys.

hey dude
I saw your pm.
I felt very confident about my encounters but I was worry about some (+) findings I found on my PE but I forgot to write on my PN. And yes, I had hope that I passed it after I took the exam cause it was my second time and the first time I flunked it and I knew my PN was a disaster so they failed me in that component. This time my Score Report came out very good actually in all components.
Good luck in your score buddy

So did GI from uworld---72 in 1 test n 51 in 2nd...i got tired in 2nd..didnt even read questions carefully
i need to focus on these questions...m taking it so casually..they are a bit lengthy this time..i need to develop this habit of concentrating for a longer time. This is a marathon..even after i have read n i know the answers..i need to focus on questions.
The point is i need to approach every question like a patient...i need to respect the question n give it my best..may be he was right i should have taken a break 2day.
